TESTIMONIALS

With a project like the Empowering Health Project which relies on community engagement, collaboration, and so many partners, it is important to celebrate our accomplishments and shout out the successes.  Good news stories and testimonials are part of this.  As such, we  will be using this page to share with you the nice comments we receive from time to time.  Enjoy!

I have been Empowered!
December 1, 2017

"I have recently become interested in raising "clean" food and in food preservation (thanks mainly to the Empowering Family Health offerings). I am pressure and water-bath canning my own broths, beans, tomato sauce, etc. I have dehydrated herbs, celery, onions, garlic and peppers and I am making my own flavour mixes. I'm also making fermented foods and kombucha. Last weekend I set up an indoor winter garden. So far I have planted lettuce and radishes. When I turned the lights on this mornibg, nothing. When i turned the light off tonight there was baby lettuce and radish! I'm going to plant my herbs this weekend. Can you imagine having your own fresh salad and herbs all winter?"

"Foraging in the Wild" Workshop
June 17, 2017
"The workshop was fantastic and we learned so much about the edible plants in our own backyard  Trevor and I will be out in the forest harvesting for our dinner!"
Brittany Schroeder, Bouchie Lake, BC

"Thank you for a wonderful workshop and great afternoon, not to mention the delicious 'growlies' to finish off the day!  I have sampled some of the plants we found in the past but learned so much more".

Leigh Turner, Wells, BC
